Here are some (somewhat grainy) photos I took of a peregrine falcon
family I photographed in southern Connecticut. At the suggestion of state Department of Environmental Protection biologists,
I cannot reveal the exact site.
Please be assured
I was a considerable distance from the birds and in no way disturbed or compromised the rearing of the chicks.
The brownish bird is a young peregrine falcon, maybe a month or so
old. It is a few short weeks away from being able to fly. Another young one was several dozen yards away.
The parents are busy feeding the young and screeching to keep in contact
with each other. They are also very protective and chase away gulls and osprey daily. It is amazing to see the adults go on
their hunts. I would not want to be a smaller bird with peregrines around.
I hope to add more photos as the rearing progresses.
